It has been over nine years since "Jumper" was released on the big screens, but it looks like a sequel to the sci-fi movie will become a reality. While details about the sequel remain scarce, a movie poster for the next installment is making rounds on the internet.

A "Jumper 2" movie poster recently emerged on Facebook after a page named "Last Friday Official" shared a photo of the sequel's alleged poster. Many fans were immediately thrilled to see the poster, as many were not expecting that there will be a sequel to the movie since it has been over nine years since the film premiered.

While many thought that the "Jumper" sequel may be a hoax, Doug Liman revealed in an earlier interview that a sequel is definitely in the works. It will, however, be released in a different platforim, as ScreenRant reports that the sequel will be produced for YouTube's streaming service, YouTube Red.

"Jumper 2" will reportedly be based on Steven Gould's third novel entitled "Impulse" and will follow the story of Cent, David and Millie's daughter, who is gifted with the same jumping abilities as her father. According to Doug Liman, the director of the original film, the sequel will realize the "dynamic potential of this amazing franchise."

It can be recalled that "Jumper" did not receive good reviews among critics and moviegoers when it aired on theaters in 2008. It only received a 16 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer with an average rating of 3.1/5 among viewers.

Many critics felt that "Jumper" had a lot of potential, but it was executed poorly in front of the big screens. Aside from the fact that the film starred Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson, many felt that the movie failed to provide depth to the characters as well as to the story.
