"Attack on Titan" season 2 looms ahead and the directors are teasing fans with bits and pieces for the upcoming season. Latest reports reveal that Tetsurou Araki and Masahi Koizuka hint of a new titan that could potentially be Eren's new arch nemesis.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 will feature new Titans and shape-shifters according to Droid. The forthcoming season will also put the highlight on other members of the elite Survey Corps members Eren, Mikasa and Armin. In the latest interview about the upcoming season, Tetsuro Araki -- the chief director and opening storyboard artist -- provides interesting details about the new Titans and Eren's new power. After almost four years of hiatus, the creative team developed the skills to deliver an improved animation and thrilling storyline.

The new director of "Attack on Titan" season 2 Tetsuro Araki shared that the script and other aspects of the production process were improved in the four-year hiatus of the series. For one, he confirms that Krista and Ymire will take the limelight in the upcoming season according to Comicbook. In fact, he said that the two characters will be "in the eye of the storm." The two characters will be vital in unfolding the truth about the Titans. Avid followers should know that Ymir is actually a shape-shifter while Krista is a royal lineage of the Founding Titan.

Tetsuro Araki added that season 2 will also deal a lot with Eren, Mikasa and Armin. Basically, those who weren't given the chance to shine in the previous season will now be the focus this coming one. The synopsis for "Attack on Titan" season 2 also mentioned Eren Jaeger's new found powers as he fights for humanity. Despite his bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren will continue to battle the rest of the Titans as he vows to wipe out every last of them.

A compilation of the first season will be shown from march 27 to 29 in 19 selected cinemas across the United States. This is to better understand the story of the manga series. "Attack on Titan" season 2 will be released on April 1.
