Sylvester Stallone is predicted to play an important role related to Peter Quill, quite similar to Kurt Russel's role in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" who plays the living planet Ego and Peter's father. Director James Gunn still keeps the role a secret, making fans more intrigued.

Gunn is very good at keeping the fans interested in the movie as reported by Comic Book. When he announced Kurt Russel would play in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," he kept the details under wraps. Until he revealed the role of Stallone's counterpart in the 1980's movie "Tango and Cash" as Peter Quill's father early this month.

Following the unveiling of Russel's role, fans and media keep an eye on other secrets that director Gunn still keeps for the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." In the film set, Stallone was seen shooting and fans wondered what the role would be for the star of "Rocky" movie franchise. As expected, he keeps the role hidden for as long as he could. Up to now, the 46-year-old director has not revealed what role Stallone would play.

Another actor whose role is still unveiled is Michael Rosenbaum. The actor who played Lex Luthor in the "Smallville" TV series was also spotted on the film set, but his role is unknown. Gunn only gave a little clue that Rosenbaum plays a decent role in the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" as reported by Gizmodo.

Stallone's role and Russel's role as Ego are predicted to return to other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They may also share the same screen together just like they did as two undercover detectives in the "Tango and Cash" movie. Meanwhile, Marvel has also released the third trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" that shows Peter the Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot save the galaxy for the second time.
