Russell Brand Talks About Katy Perry; Admits His Marriage to 'One of the Boys' Singer Was a Failure From the Start

In a lucid interview last Thursday, March 30 with John Bishop on W Channel, Russell Brand revealed his new perspective on short marriage with Katy Perry. He admitted that he now has developed some positive feeling toward her. He also shared the relationship with Laura Gallacher.

Brand admitted that now he has a warm feeling toward his ex-wife reported by E! News. However, he didn't deny the fact that their marriage was a failure from the start as they both were very busy. He said, "I think that is to do with the undulated nature of fame and that, living in those conditions and what was happening."

The 41-year-old comedian and Perry were married for only 14 months. They were married on Oct. 23, 2010, in Rajasthan, India in a Hindu ceremony. In December 2011, Brand filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. He sent the divorce message through a text message, showing how their relations. Their divorce was finalized in July 2012.

In the interview last Thursday, Brand also shared his feeling to become the father as reported by Daily Mail. Three years after his divorce, he started a relationship with Laura Gallacher and they both had a daughter Mabel who was born in November 2016. He had mentioned last year, that he wanted to raise his daughter gender neutral.

In the early days of his career, his eccentric image was often related to his drug abuse. Brand has been arrested for more than 10 times and he claimed that he has quit using heroin. His manager John Noel was the one who played the most important role to get him off his drug addiction.

Aside from his drug abuse Brand was also diagnosed to suffer from two psychological disorders, bipolar disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which made him act erratically. Watch the interview in the "In Conversation" on the W channel  below:
