Blake Shelton Still Inspires Miranda Lambert as She Makes History at 2017 ACM Awards

Blake Shelton still becomes the inspiration for Miranda Lambert to write songs about him and their relationship, even after they have divorced for two years. Her latest album won the award and she made history on Sunday, April 2, at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards.

Her sixth album "The Weight of These Wings" won Album of the Year award and she also made history by winning Female Vocalist of the Year for 8th consecutive times as reported by Us Weekly. She broke the record that previously was held by Reba McEntire.

Lambert's songs written after her divorce are more or less inspired by the heartbreak she felt after her four years of marriage with Shelton fell apart in 2015. Although Shelton may feel unease with this, but Lambert scored many hits after they divorced were finalized in July 2015 and won more awards. She became the first female singer to win twice Album of the Year Award in the Country Music Association Awards in November 2015, and last Sunday, she broke another record.

In her acceptance speech, she hinted her heartbreak as her inspiration to write songs, Lambert also thanked her fans in her acceptance speech. She said, "I just want to say thank you for letting me use my heartbreak and sharing that with me."

Meanwhile, her ex-husband is still in a relationship with Gwen Stefani, singer of rock band No Doubt and fellow coach for "The Voice." They have been in a relationship for one and half year as reported by E! News. Shelton and Stefani announced their relationship months after Shelton's divorce with Lambert finalized in 2015. At that time, Stefani was also ending up her 13 years of marriage with Bush guitarist Gavin Rossdale.
