Well-known socialite Kim Kardashian and husband, rapper Kanye West already have two children together. Their daughter North was born in June 2013 while their son, Saint was born in December 2015. Now, it appears that the celebrity couple is planning on having a family together as they are reportedly to add one more member of their family. However, the reality TV star is no longer safe to have a baby when she was diagnosed with preeclampsia and the couple turned to surrogacy as an absolute option.

Preeclampsia is common among those pregnant women, who develop an extremely high blood pressure, severe headache among others. It will lead to eclampsia if left untreated and can be life-threatening. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were of course devastated upon learning that she can no longer have another baby. Technically, she can but it would be too dangerous for her to get pregnant again.

In "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" season 13, Kim even went through a painful surgery but got disappointed with the result. Since the famous socialite can no longer get pregnant, their only alternative is surrogacy. Kourtney Kardashian was the first candidate as surrogate mother but it appears that the couple has set this option aside. According to Los Angeles Times, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have now opted to hire a surrogate.

According to Celebrity Insider, a source close to the celebrity couple revealed that they are still discussing about getting a surrogate although they are also considering at having only two children. The source also added that it might take some time before the couple can decide. "There haven't been any arguments so far, but quite a lot of discussion on the age and race of the possible surrogate for Kim [Kardashian] and Kanye [West] among so much else," the source said.
