Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka have finally called it quits. Only five months into the relationship and the songbird eventually got tired of her backup dancer/lover's jealous ways and lavish spending habits.

Mariah Carey's relationship with Tanaka allegedly began even while she was engaged with Aussie billionaire James Parker. The two could be seen flirting and spending a lot of time off stage. This happened during her world tour that was featured on her reality series "Mariah's World" per Mail Online.

Eventually, Mariah Carey revealed on the show that she and Packer broke off the engagement. However, this didn't stop the music icon from continuing to flaunt her $10 million dollar engagement ring which Packer supposedly allowed her to keep even after their breakup.

Despite their divorce, ex-couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have remained good friends and would spend lots of times together for the sake of their kids. They'd go out as a family, attend the "Kids' Choice Awards", and spend holidays together. This did not sit well with Tanaka. He couldn't take Carey and Cannon's closeness that he would retaliate by flirting with other girls even in her presence, per Hollywood Life. When asked about Tanaka and Carey's split, Cannon even joked that most men are jealous of him. He quickly added though that he knew nothing about it and that he and Mariah were simply focused on the well-being of their children.

TMZ also reported that Mariah Carey got sick and tired of Tanaka's outrageous spending habits. He wanted 'expensive chains and watches' and loved designer shoes. The whole trouble is, he wasn't spending a dime for it, she was. Thus, if one has expensive taste, he has to be sure he's got money to burn.
