‘Shadowhunters’ Season 2 Spoilers: Be Renewed On Freeform? Teaser Photos Hint On New Realm

"Shadowhunters" Season 2 is currently on its mid-season break and while the Freeform drama still has a couple of episodes left, many fans are already starting to wonder about the show's fate. The series has not been exactly receiving stellar live ratings, but it continues to generate buzz on social media. Will the show be renewed for Season 3?

"Shadowhunters" Season 2 renewal remains a mystery to many of the show's drama, as Freeform has not yet issued an official renewal order for the series. As Carter Matt notes, there is a high chance that the network will renew the show for a third season even though its live+same day ratings have not been very stellar.

It is possible that Freeform is simply taking its time with regard to the "Shadowhunters" Season 2 renewal since the show is currently on a midseason hiatus. While its live+same day ratings are not very impressive, the show definitely has a lot of support from its loyal viewers.

"Shadowhunters" has also received the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Drama Series, reports Broadway World. According to the publication, the show was awarded because of its portrayal of an LGBT story, specifically the arc on "Malec" in Season 2.

Fansided also shared a couple of teaser behind-the-scenes photos for "Shadowhunters" Season 2B, which will return to air this June. One of the photos generating a lot of buzz among fans is the one showing a garden, which led to speculations that a new realm will be featured in the second half of the season.

The publication notes that the producers of the show have already confirmed that the Seelie Queen will be making an appearance on "Shadowhunters" Season 2. This could mean that the second half of the season will introduce more of the Seelies when the show returns on June 5.
