"Criminal Minds" Season 12 spoilers tease that there will be "some surprises" when the CBS drama finally gives resolution to the arc involving Spencer Reid. In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Erica Messer shared that this surprise will also involve the return of Shemar Moore as Derek Morgan.

Morgan will help the BAU deal with Reid's case, including Mr. Scratch's involvement on "Criminal Minds" Season 12, which will continue all the way through the final moments of the season. Aside from this, Messer shared that viewers will have to deal with yet another cliffhanger once the CBS series closes its curtains for this season.

It remains to be seen what kind of cliffhanger will be left for viewers on "Criminal Minds" Season 12 finale, but many are hoping that it no longer involves Reid, as he has been put to jail for quite a long while. As BuddyTV recaps, the latest episode of the show has seen Reid recall who was with him in the room when he got drugged.

In a surprising revelation, the latest "Criminal Minds" Season 12 episode showed the return of Lindsey Vaughn, who was last seen in Season 3. The BAU helped Lindsey, which makes it quite surprising for some, but more details are expected to be unveiled in the upcoming episodes leading to the finale.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 finale airs on May 10 on CBS.
