“Poldark” fans were sent into a spiral after season 2 ended with a shocking cliffhanger. The finale left viewers with a lot of emotions but most are stunned with the turn of events. With the hype that the show is getting right now, Aiden Turner revealed that “Poldark” season 4 is already a done deal although the third installment has yet to be aired soon.

Elizabeth Warleggan (Heida Reed) dropped a bombshell before the sequel wrapped up last year, revealing that she was expecting a baby. With that shocking revelation, fans just could not wait to finally know the father of her unborn child in the next installment. Viewers are also expecting to know the truth when “Poldark” season 3 episode 1 finally airs on BBC One in June.

While waiting for the third installment to launch, fans have been busy speculating about the real father of Elizabeth’s baby. As expected, many believed that Captain Ross Poldark (Aiden Turner) is undoubtedly the father of his ex-fiance’s unborn child.

Although most people are already certain that Ross is indeed the father, the writer of the BBC series, Debbie Horsfield, hinted that that the predictions could be wrong, as per Metro UK. She shared that while there is a chance that Ross is the father, but there is also a chance that he isn’t.

“The books are really ambiguous about it, it’s never said, ‘Oh, it’s obviously Ross’ baby,” the “Poldark” writer noted. “We may wish it to be, certainly for drama, it makes it more interesting but the book is not clear at this stage. We’re not saying at this stage either.”

Meanwhile, Aiden Turner has recently revealed the fate of the hit British-American drama television series. The 33-year-old actor teased that “Poldark” season 4 is already in the works, but at the same noted that no one was supposed to know about it.

"We've planned series four - we actually start filming in September," Aiden Turner revealed to the BFI & Radio Times Television Festival in London, as reported by The Week. "It was a secret,” he added.
