It's no secret that Jon Snow is alive and well in "Game of Thrones" but the former Lord Commander of the Night's Watch was last seen fading into darkness in George R. R. Martin's books. However, there are speculations that the author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" has already completed a new chapter for "The Winds of Winter" where people can read about Jon's death and eventual resurrection in his point of view. Does this mean Martin is getting close to completing yet another chapter in the long-awaited novel?

In "A Dance with Dragons", Jon Snow was attacked by men of the Night's Watch and was left for dead as he bled out in the snow. The chapter concludes with Jon saying "Ghost" before everything goes black. This particular scene ended the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale and it has since been revealed that Jon would be brought back to life by Melisandre in the sixth season. But will fans learn what it was like for Jon to be dead and make a shocking comeback in a new POV chapter in "The Winds of Winter"? Will George R.R. Martin finally confirm that the new King in the North is Azor Ahai in the sixth "ASOIAF" novel?

George R.R. Martin has recently made a comment on his LiveJournal, stating that he will not release any new sample chapters from "The Winds of Winter". Fans believe that the author may have completed an important new chapter for the novel, which could be from Jon Snow's point of view. There are speculations that people will get to read how Jon felt during his death and what he saw before he was resurrected. It is even possible that Jon may have had an otherworldly connection to the Lord of Light, confirming that Jon is indeed Azor Ahai.

There has been no confirmation yet on "The Winds of Winter" release date or Jon Snow's new POV chapter but George R.R. Martin is hard at work on the book. It is possible that the novel will be delayed yet again because the author has several projects to work on for the rest of the year, as per CeleBeat.
