"Stranger Things" Season 2 spoilers reveal that the show will face "darker threats," as they begin to explore the characters and the Upside Down. Speaking to Variety at the Netflix FYSee Space event in Los Angeles, the cast and crew shared that viewers will learn more about the characters' lives, especially those of the younger ones.

While "Stranger Things" Season 2 will get a "little bit bigger" than the first season, the cast promised that the show will continue to focus on what really matters. This means that the show may get quite darker than season one, but the show will always prioritize giving depth to the characters instead of focusing on spooking out the audience.

"But we know that what really brought us here are the characters that people connect to and that feel authentic," said executive producer Shawn Levy. "So Season 2 is every bit as loyal to characters first, and spooky second."

"Stranger Things" Season 2 is well on schedule for its October release on Netflix, as Screenrant reports that filming has already ended in early June. The cast shared the announcement via photos on social media.

Not much is known about "Stranger Things" Season 2 except for the fact that Eleven is returning and her story will be explored further. Viewers will also see more of the Upside Down in the new season of the Netflix original series.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 premieres on Oct. 31 on Netflix.
