'The Bachelor' Couple Ben Higgins & Lauren Bushnell Breakup Was Because of JoJo Fletcher?

"The Bachelor" season 20 stars Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell were engaged since 2016 but the couple announced their breakup in May 2017. The couple did not reveal the reason why they had to part ways but there are fans who believe that it could be a third party issue. Recently, Higgins was forced to address some questions by fans about his breakup with Bushnell and said that it wasn't easy.

During his iHeartRadio podcast with Ashley Iaconetti, "The Bachelor" star revealed that his breakup with Bushnell did not come easy. "When you really care about somebody and you really love somebody and that has to end - for whatever reason, even for reasons that either person can't really explain," he said in the podcast obtained by Blasting News. "It's just a feeling and you have to go your separate ways - it hurts. It hurts bad."

Although their breakup was hard for him, "The Bachelor" star said that he would remain a good friend to Bushnell and that he was grateful for sharing his time with her throughout their relationship. Fans until now though are still wondering what could have stemmed the couple's breakup but others speculate that it might be because of Joelle "JoJo" Fletcher. The latter was Bushnell's runner up during the reality show finale.

"The Bachelor" couple has their own reality show "Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?" and Bushnell revealed that the show affected their relationship together. She explained that they didn't have enough time to spend with each other because they were busy filming the show. Bushnell revealed that while she was filming the show with Higgins, she was already in a "high-stress situation."

Some fans also speculate that when "The Bachelor" season 20 runner up JoJo Fletcher appeared in one of the episodes in "Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After?," Bushnell was greatly affected. She even revealed to People that she thinks that she was stuck in the same situation where she had to compete for Higgin's heart. That said, many fans believe that Fletcher was one of the reasons why the couple had to part ways.
