"Rick and Morty" was released to critical acclaim with its creativity, originality and humor being praised the most. On April 1, the creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland surprised everyone when season 3 premiered without being announced. The long wait for the third season might be over but there were no further details released about the release of the next episode. However, earlier reports say that fans can expect episode 2 this summer, although there was no specific date mentioned. Recently, one of the show's writers dropped some teasers about the upcoming episodes of the popular show.

Fans first saw the Evil Morty or Eye Patch Morty during "Rick and Morty" season 1 episode 10 titled "Close Tick-Counters of the Rick Kind" and everyone has been waiting for his return since then. The showrunners must have felt this as writer Ryan Ridley said in an interview via Podcast that the fan-favorite character is set to return this season. He said that as part of their gratitude to all fans that have made the show a global success, they will certainly grant everyone's request to have the character in the show once again.

Ridley explained that they want fans to know more about the "Rick and Morty" characters that they have learned to like despite their short appearance in the series. "The fact that people still care about characters that were introduced back in Season 1 and ideas - like the 'eye-patch/evil Morty' - in Season 3, I think we stay true to the idea that the world is real," he said. "There are consequences."

The showrunners have promised a fun-filled "Rick and Morty" season 3 and fans are all expecting this once the next episode premieres. Celebeat reports that the episodes of the third season are inspired by the famous films. An example would be episode 1 titled "The Rickshank Redemption," which is inspired by the movie "The Shawshank Redemption."

The Evil Morty will soon make an appearance in one of the upcoming episodes of "Rick and Morty" season 3. That's for sure. Stay tuned, folks!
