Pacers Chris Copeland Still in ICU After Stabbing Incident

Christopher Stephen 'Chris' Copeland, who plays forward for the Indiana Pacers, is now in stable condition but has to remain in the intensive care unit in a New York hospital after undergoing surgery Thursday following a stabbing incident on Wednesday morning. In a staement he released through ESPN's Josina Anderson, he said: “I just want to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers. I'm overwhelmed with the outpouring of support. Paul George, 24, who plays the small forward and shooting guard positions for the Indiana Pacers, suffered a compound fracture of both bones in his lower right leg during off-season while trying out for the national team to be then sent to compete at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain. During a scrimmage game, he landed awkwardly at the base of a basket stanchion. He underwent surgery and had to be hospitalized for about three days.
