Actress Amanda Bynes has gotten herself into quite a bind. According to Celebuzz and several other reports, the 26-year-old starlet has finally been been charged with two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run.

"Amanda Bynes has been charged with two counts of hit-and-run yesterday," a spokesman from Los Angeles City Attorney's Office said. "The case was filled yesterday."

According to police reports, Bynes was involved in two hit-and-run episodes. The first, which was initially dismissed because witnesses failed to identify her as the driver, occurred in San Fernando Valley's 101 Freeway, in April. The second, which happened last month, propelled prosecutors to re-open her previous case and file charges against the starlet.

If convicted, Bynes faces six months in jail and a $1000 fine for each charge.

Bynes, whose movie career has been steadily declining over the past years, have been building quite a rap sheet for herself. In early April, she found herself jail-bound when she collided with a police vehicle - her BAC level was well above the limit and she was booked for a DUI.

She is scheduled to appear in the Van Nuys Superior Court on Sept. 27.

Amanda has publicly admitted to shying away from the Hollywood social scene. "Part of me relates to Perez Hilton because he's an outcast," she told Cosmopolitan Magazine in an interview. "I don't have a lot of friends who are actresses. They're catty, and they'll cut you down. I like that Perez is proud of who he is and doesn't care what anybody thinks."

We hardly see Bynes at red carpet events or partying on the town like the rest of her peers, instead the actress has been focusing on charity work. According to the magazine, "she recently contributed her entire salary for the Lifetime movie Living Proof to cancer research and awareness."

We hope Bynes can put her legal drama behind her and focus on making us laugh on the big screen. Of her future career aspirations, she's hoping for "Something dramatic." The actress is inspired by Renée Zellweger's career, "I'd love to do something that would shock people, something that's against type. I feel like I'm starting fresh," she said. "I feel like people don't know yet what I can really do."
