The MTV Video Music Awards is just another excuse for daring singer Rihanna to reinvent herself. The Barbados native, has once again chopped off all of her hair. This time, opting for an understated cut that is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn.

Bet you never thought you'd ever hear that comparison, did you?

"Her hairstyle typically changes depending on what's on our agenda, what she's wearing, or how she's feeling," stylist Ursula Stephen said of the chameleon crooner. "We take it day by day and event by event, and usually will both bring ideas to the table. It's always a collaboration."

Rihanna is nominated for five awards and is reportedly the show's opening act. Her feuding exes, Chris Brown and Drake, are also expected to attend the much-anticipated event.

Now that RiRi has made-over her locks, it's gotten us wondering about her ensemble for the night. We're waiting with bated breath and are ready to scoop our hanging jaws off the ground.

The 24-year-old is inspired by both masculine and feminine attire. "I love to combine femininity with a kind of extreme masculine edge," she told Interview Magazine.

But where does she get the courage to continuously rock such daring ensemble? Riri fights her self-esteem issues by gradually baring her toned physique. "The more I got naked, the more comfortable I felt," she told Britain's Women's Fitness magazine. "I just had to face my fear. You always find something wrong, you always find something you're uncomfortable with, and one thing turns into another and you get embarrassed and self-conscious about it."

"After a while, it was like, 'What's the worst that can happen?' I just started being a little more daring with it. It was just knowing my body ... is what it is under clothes or outside of clothes."

Though she admits, "My way probably won't work for most people."
