Simon Cowell revealed details about host Steve Jones' replacement for the second season of X factor when he appeared with fellow judge Britney Spears, on the Ellen Degeneres show this morning.

"I know whom I would like, but now I have to get it approved by the network," Cowell said. "So I think it would be wrong to say at this point, just in case the network says no."

When host Degeneres probed him further, "Give us three names that it could be," she said, he admitted:

"We have screen tested a load of people. . .It could be a Kardashian. I think that would work. I'm quite a fan of not putting [experienced] hosts on this show. Because I think it's going to give it a different dynamic. So we have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloe is definitely up there in running."

Cowell usually gets what he wants - and if he wants Khloe Kardashian to host the forthcoming season of X Factor, it's more than likely he'll get his wish.

According to US Weekly, Khloe made an indelible first impression on the hypercritical judge along with a slew of FOX executives. "It's not official but she is definitely a strong contender for the hosting gig," one show source said. "Simon liked her spunky personality!"

Khloe -- who has been trying to conceive with her basketball player husband Lamar Odom, recently received some terrible fertility news - on Sunday night's episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," the 28-year-old learned she failed to ovulate, which meant her chances of getting pregnant would be delayed for yet another month.

"I'm not a big crier," a clearly defeated Khloe tweeted  during the show  on Sunday. "So I'm not too excited about what's coming up. Might have to stop watching. Sometimes hate reliving tough emotions."
