Rumors of a reconciliation between Robert Pattinson, 26, and Kristen Stewart, 22, are indeed true. People magazine confirmed the embattled couple reunited in a "dramatic makeup" over the weekend in Los Angeles.

The couple went their separate ways after Stewart had a brief fling with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders, 41.

After scandalous photos of the tryst surfaced, a distraught Stewart confirmed the affair with a heartfelt apology to Pattinson.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected." She wrote. " This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

"He worships her," a source said at the height of the scandal. "He doesn't think there is another woman on the planet who is as beautiful and kind as her. He wants to be with her 24/7, he wants to marry her...as far as he is concerned, Kristen is his perfect match...Kristen is perfect to him. That's why he's always known that someday she would be his wife."

A close friend of the twosome, "think they'll be a couple again." However, another source thinks forgive and forget is easier in theory, moving on is "easier said than done ... and clearly harder than expected."

A few weeks ago, several news sources reported the couple agreed to a face-to-face reunion - after weeks of unanswered phone calls and text messages.

"She begged to meet face-to-face so they could talk," an insider told Look magazine. "It was obvious Kristen was getting through to Rob and he has agreed to see her."

Pattinson's anger towards Stewart began to thaw because of how she was being portrayed by the public. I suppose we can take credit for their reconciliation, which conveniently happened before the final installment of the "Twilight" saga "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" hits theaters Nov.16.

"In fact, he admitted that it must be worse for her because she's not just dealing with heartbreak, but being portrayed as a villain, while he gets all the sympathy," the source continued.
