James Murphy, the founder and frontman of "LCD Soundsystem" (RIP), has just released a track he recorded with Brit Pop veterans "Pulp." Listen to the new song, "After You," here or below.

"Pulp" has spent the year touring the world following the '90s band's recent reunion, and finished off the year with a hometown show at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England before playing sets for both versions of the inaugural S.S. Coachella festival.

It was onboard the musical Caribbean cruise that "Pulp" performed on the same stage as James Murphy, who was booked for a DJ set. The two musical forces had begun work on the track over a decade ago, but ever finished it until the met onboard, according to Pitchfork.

Since breaking up "LCD Soundsystem," Murphy has collaborated with a number of musicians, including "Yeah Yeah Yeah," "Arcade Fire," and a special track featuring Murphy, Andre 3000 and Damon Albarn that was commissioned by Converse.

"After You" was release in the form of an online download only available to "Pulp" fans who received a special card for attending the band's homecoming concert in England. Fans were given a card promising a Christmas present available by using a code written on the card that would activate the gift online any time after midnight on Christmas Eve.

What's next for "Pulp" and James Murphy. The future is unclear. Murphy will likely to continue to collabrate with and produce albums for the most popular indie bands arround. Meanwhile, "Pulp" isn't offering any clues.

"We haven't got anything planned after the New Year," frontman Jarvis Cocker told Q magazine. "We'll just be cruising off into the sunset. Seems poetic. Not wishing to make a big deal, but we've played for a while and it's been really good, but you can't keep doing that forever."
