Former "Kyle XY" star Matt Dallas has announced his engagement to musician Blue Hamilton.

"Starting off the year with a new fiancé, @bluehamilton," the actor wrote." A great way to kick off 2013."

The couple has been together since 2009, according to E! Online.

While Matt Dallas officially came out this weekend, rumors of his sexuality have flown around for years. Perez Hilton notes that the actor was previously linked to Jonathan Bennett, best known for playing the lead love interest in the film "Mean Girls."

Matt Dallas is not the first celebrity to announce his sexuality in relatively subtle way.

As Huffington Post notes, "White Collar" star Matt Bomer revealed his homosexuality last February when he thanked his boyfriend during the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards. Bomer received the New Generation Arts and Activism Awards at the ceremony in honor of his work fighting HIV/AIDS.

Quinto, meanwhile, came out when he referred to himself as a "gay man" in a profile for New York magazine back in October of 2011.

Besides appearing on "Kyle XY," Dallas is also known for playing Katy Perry's love interest in her video for "Thinking of You." Hollywood Reporter notes that he will next play a love interest in ABC Family's hit sitcom, "Baby Daddy." There, he will reunite with his "Kyle XY" co-star, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, who stars on the series as a twentysomething raising a child on his own.
