Fans may be blaming Freddy E's suicide on his ex-girlfriend, Honey Cocaine, but Honey believes that she is not responsible.

Honey Cocaine spoke with MTV News on Wednesday about the rapper's death. She told the network that the two were "just friends."

"Blogs are saying that I was his ex-girlfriend and he did what he did because of a failed relationship," Honey Cocaine said. "That has nothing to do with anything. I need people to understand that it was just a friendship."

However, right after Freddy E's death, she admitted that she and her ex "loved each other."

'To say I caused what happened is ignorance,' Honey Cocaine wrote on Twitter, per Daily Mail. 'You know nothing about our friendship or the story, hate me if you feel. We loved each other. We were homies. We had a bond and a connection.

Freddy E's suicide shook the Internet on Sunday, when fans discovered tweets that the rapper had written in his final moments. Among other things, he wrote that the day "couldn't get any worse" while also telling his mother and father that he loved them.

Indeed, Honey Cocaine said that she thinks the rapper had other issues besides his relationship with her.

"Everyone is fighting their own battles," she said. "We're all soldiers. Some of our soldiers turn to angels, and some of us turn to veterans. And he was one who turned into an angel."

Freddy E is sadly not the only young rapper to commit suicide in recent weeks. According to Huffington Post, Capital STEEZ also killed himself after posting a final message on Twitter. Billboard reports that the final tweet simply stated, "The end."
