Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman Affair Began in 2009, Source Says

Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman have been having an affair for four years according to an article published by Us Weekly on Wednesday.

Cowell and Lauren made headline news last week after it was reported that she was pregnant with his child. Lauren is still married to her husband Andrew Silverman and the two share a 7-year-old son.  In his divorce filing, Andrew named his friend Cowell as the other man. It has been reported that Andrew was surprised that his friend and wife were having an affair but a source told the publication that they have been involved since 2009.

Lauren has loved Simon forever," the source said. "And they started having an affair four years ago."

The source added that the Silverman's befriended Cowell in 2004 when they vacationed in the Bahamas.  They often stayed at Cowell's home. The fling between Cowell and Lauren turned into a full fledged affair because the Silverman's marriage was a rocky one according to Lauren's mother, Carole Saland.

"The marriage was not made in heaven," she said.

A source also reinforced the opinion on the state of the Silverman marriage.  Lauren was described as not feeling appreciated by her husband. The insider said that by January of this year, she consulted a lawyer about divorcing Andrew.

"Andrew always went on trips without her. She felt he treated her like garbage," the source said.
