Sources confirmed to Us Weekly that as of Friday, August 23, the boy band's rumored reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards is truly happening.

On Sunday, August 25, Justin Timberlake will be performing with his former 'N Sync bandmates Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez and Joey Fatone for a short set, according to Us Weekly.

"They will reenact some of their greatest videos in a medley," one source says, singling out the smash hit "Bye Bye Bye," from their 2000 album No Strings Attached. "Then Justin will sing his new song 'Take Back the Night' and get his [Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award]."

On the other hand, another source has revealed that the boy band is still finalizing their set list. One thing's sure at the moment: they are really going to perform as the rehearsals are under way. The group has been rumored to be convened yesterday, August 23, in New York City to talk about their performance, a source revealed to Us Weekly.

The last time that the group performed was 10 years ago at the 2003 Grammy Awards as a tribute to the Bee Gees.

"It's amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media..[and] how many people are supporting 'N Sync," Bass said. "It's so nice to see, because when we ended things [over] 10 years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter [fan base]. It's so cute to see how many people are supporting [us]."

The MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, Aug. 25, at 9 p.m.
