Jenny McCarthy has shared her enthusiasm about being one of the new hosts of The View to Entertainment Tonight Online.

McCarthy was announced as the replacement for Elisabeth Hasselback who departed the ABC chat fest this past summer. On Monday, the former Playboy bunny took her place besides Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd.

"It's been the whole day; every single moment I have such gratitude," McCarthy said. "I walk around just grateful all day, going, 'Thank you...for this job!'"

The 40-year-old has been a model, actress and has done sporadic hosting over the years. However, this may be her most prominent position to date. She expressed her gratitude over the opportunity.

"Twenty years, I've been trying to get to where I am right today. I mean, I worked really hard. I paid my dues," she said. "I'm looking up at the sign right now of 'The View' going 'Ah, I can't believe it!' I'm just really grateful to have this job."

Walters said that McCarthy was a natural and did not need much direction. She trusted the Chicago native to be an easy fit onto the panel of opinionated women.

"Jenny doesn't need advice," Walters said. "The important thing about being on 'The View' is you have to be yourself. This is an unscripted show; we're not writing every funny line. Jenny brings humor and intelligence and warmth. ... She's open for everything. I think she's a terrific choice for us."
