Paul Walker's father has spoken out about the tragic death of his son, E! News reported Monday.

Paul Walker Sr. was visibly upset when he spoke to  L.A.'s CBS2 on Dec. 1. It was the day after the Fast and Furious star lost his life in a car crash in California. He was the passenger of a car being driven by his friend and race car driver, Roger Rodas. Police are still determining the cause of the crash which caused the car to be engulfed in flames. The Fast and Furious star was 40 and Rodas was 38.

"I'm just glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him," Walker Sr. said. "And he would say the same thing to me."

Walker Sr. said that his sons were taking the news of their brother's death hard.  Family and friends gathered at the Walker residence to offer comfort to one another Sunday evening.

"You can't beat friends at a time like this," Walker Sr. said.

Walker Sr. also spoke about his granddaughter, 15-year-old Meadow. She was Walker's teenage daughter and had attended the same event with her father before he took the fatal ride in his friend's Porsche.

"I want to take a hiatus. She's just 15 and I don't have much more time to be with her,'" Walker Sr. recalled his son as saying. "Then boom, he got another movie. He would say, 'I don't know what to do."

Funeral arrangements are still pending.
