Kelly Osbourne and Matthew Mosshart have split after two years together and an Anguillan engagement last summer.

The couple, who announced their engagement in July of 2013, first met at Kate Moss' wedding in 2011 and went public later that year. Of her beau, Osbourne previously told press, "I've never felt this close to another human being, ever. People say we're co-dependent, but we just want to be together all the time."

Following the split, Osbourne's rep released a statement, telling fans that the split is "amicable."

"Kelly Osbourne and Matthew Mosshart have decided to end their engagement," Osbourne's rep said in a statement. "The split is amicable and the pair continue to have nothing but the utmost respect for one another. Kelly is looking forward to a new year full of fresh beginnings. No further comments will be provided by all parties and we request privacy, decorum and space from the press but don't expect it."

On the day that the news broke, Osbourne took to Twitter where she told fans, "It's all about perception sometimes the bad things that happen in life aren't really bad at all especially when you learn something from it!"

Then, on Thursday, Osbourne spoke out publicly for the first time regarding the broken engagement.

"It was a mutual decision," Osbourne told E! News. "We love each other very much. It just wasn't the right time for us and I think if we weren't as mature and adult as we are, then we could have gone down a road that wasn't really nice. We're still really, really good friends. It's just that we're not living in the same house. There's no dramatic story. I wish there was so I had something to tell people, but no ... It just happens in life."

Osbourne's mother Sharon addressed the split as well, telling her The Talk audience, "Matthew is a lovely guy. They had two great years together of fun and love, and for me, that's why engagements are so important. Engagements are a test run, aren't they? And so it didn't work for whatever reason, but they are still good friends and will continue to be. It's just not right for them right now."
