The Little Couple star Jen Arnold has some big news. After announcing that she had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as stage 3 choriocarcinoma in Dec. 2013, Arnold underwent a hysterectomy and started chemotherapy treatments. Now, just two months later, her cancer is in remission.

"I had my official last chemo treatment," Arnold, 39, told PEOPLE Magazine on Feb. 4. "And while I'm hesitant to say I'm cancer-free – maybe that's common for people who have had cancer – I'm doing great. Everything is moving in the right direction. I am very excited."

However, the journey hasn't been easy. Following her cancer diagnosis, Arnold underwent a hysterectomy to remove a mass in her uterus, and once the surgery was complete, she developed pneumonia. Then, doctors were hard at work, trying to find the correct chemotherapy dosage levels to battle tumors in a person of her stature.

"It actually got harder as more time went on," Arnold admitted. "Some weeks were more difficult than others with different side effects. I had a lot of fatigue and nausea and some days it just felt like my hands and feet were very heavy."

Luckily, Arnold had the support of her husband, Bill Klein, and their two kids.

"Bill knows when I'm not doing well and he takes such good care of me," she says. "That was huge. That and enjoying watching my children play was a huge uplifting part of my treatment. With kids running around, you don't have much time to feel sorry for yourself."

At this stage, Arnold will continue to be monitored regularly by doctors to ensure that her cancer doesn't return. If all goes well, the doctor visits will get less and less frequent as time goes on.

"Sometimes I get a little winded when I walk around more and I have that fuzzy chemo brain at times, but I am very excited and happy to be where I am right now," Arnold said of her recovery. "I want to get stuff done. I am anxious to get back to my normal self."
