Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are scheduled to wed in May 2014, and as their big day gets closer, their planning is being kicked into high-gear. However, according to a new report, West's elaborate plans have gotten "out of control."

“It’s just insane,” a friend told Britain’s Heat Magazine. “Kanye has basically billed it as … breaking the boundaries of what to expect when it comes to a wedding.”

“This will be the event of the year. Think fashion runway, stage show performance. Think avant grade. Think nothing like you’ve ever seen," the source continued. "Kanye’s saying ‘This is a concept event based on a wedding.’”

Apparently, West is hoping to impress a selected few fashion heavyweights when it comes to the event, and is arranging to have Vogue's Anna Wintour, Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, and Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld at the wedding as guests to witness his creative work firsthand.

Unfortunately, his need to impress has turned him into a complete "groomzilla," focusing more on the visuals of the event than the actual meaning of the big day, and even Kardashian has been left out when it comes to planning.

“He’s sometimes even forgetting to involve Kim in the meetings with the wedding planner,” the insider revealed. “She feels like the whole thing might be spinning out of control.”

According to a separate report from last week, West and Kardashian will wear handcrafted crowns during the ceremony because West allegedly "thinks he and Kim are royalty."

Performances during the reception are said to include Stevie Wonder and John Legend.

This marriage will be the first for West and the third for Kardashian.
