Ashlee Simpson Evan Ross Wedding News: Ross' Sister Says She's "So Sweet"

Evan Ross' sister couldn't be happier for him and his new fiancee, Ashlee Simpson.

Following the couple's engagement party, actress Tracee Ellis Ross spoke out, gushing about Simpson and revealing her excitement about adding two new sisters to her family.

"The thing that I think is really beautiful and amazing about her [is] she has a heart of gold, that girl," Ellis Ross told E! News during Sunday's MOCA's 35th Anniversary Gala Presented by Louis Vuitton. "I swear to God, she's like a mushy love, and she's so sweet."

After about six months of dating, Ross proposed to Simpson with a marquise-cut diamond and ruby ring (Simpson's older sister, Jessica, also has a ruby engagement ring) set in platinum and gold, which she debuted on Twitter shortly thereafter. 

"This is what Evan said to me, which I think is the cutest—he goes, 'Tracee, I just think you know when you know and I know,'" Ellis Ross explained of her brother's engagement.

And while the Ross family is quite large, with Ross' mother, Diana Ross, having five children and two grandchildren, both born to Ross' siblings, who are Ellis Ross' half siblings (she has a different father), Ellis Ross is looking forward to adding Simpson, and her sister Jessica, to their brood.

"We're a big family," Ellis Ross said. "We love siblings. We love big family stuff, and I got two more sisters now. Who knew I was going to grow up and have Ashlee and Jessica Simpson as my new siblings?!"

Prior to his relationship with Simpson, Ross spent three years with model Cora Skinner, the ex-girlfriend of Brody Jenner. He was also linked to Aubrey O'Day, Hayden Panettiere, and Lindsay Lohan.

No word yet on when Ross and Simpson will be married.
