Peaches Geldof's 11-month-old son Phaedra was by her side when she died.

After being unable to contact his wife, Thomas Cohen alerted a woman to check on Geldof, who was later found dead at their home with son Phaedra playing nearby.

According to a report by The Sun, Cohen and Astala, the couple's oldest son, spent the night away from home on Sunday night. The next morning, Cohen attempted to make contact with Geldof but was unable, which led him to have a friend check on her. When they did, they found her deceased.

In 2000, Geldof's mother, Paula Yates, was found dead from a drug overdose, and the circumstances surrounding how she was found were eerily similar to Geldof's death. Just like with Geldof, Yates' young child was with her when she died. When Yates' body was discovered in her Notting Hill, west London home, Geldof's four-year-old sister Tiger Lily was found playing nearby by a friend.

"The hope is that Phaedra was so young he wasn't aware of what was going on. The most important thing is that he's OK," a source told The Sun. "It is devastating for Tom that he wasn't there but it couldn't have been avoided."

On Wednesday, UK police confirmed that the results of an autopsy done on Geldof's body turned up inconclusive results. Her body has since been released to family to prepare for her funeral, which will likely take place in the same church that her mother's did years ago.
