Valerie Harper is reportedly being sued by her former Broadway director.

According to a new report, playwright Matthew Lombardo has filed a $2 million lawsuit against Harper, claiming she failed to reveal her cancer diagnosis to producers until after she had signed on to participate in the show.

"Valerie Harper is in the middle of a $2 million lawsuit with Broadway playwright Matthew Lombardo after she failed to tell the producers of Looped that she had cancer," Us Weekly reported on April 27. "Lombardo claims Harper failed to notify him, costing him $500,000."

Lombardo's lawsuit comes after Harper filed a suit of her own, claiming he failed to pay her what she was due after she pulled out of his production, "Looped," for health reasons. In the show, Harper had played Hollywood legend Tallulah Bankhead, a role which garnered her a 2010 Tony Award nomination.

In his lawsuit, Lombardo claims he did not learn of Harper's lung cancer diagnosis until Dec. 2012, just before her autobiography was released. Then, when Harper was diagnosed with brain cancer and pulled out of the show, Lombardo claims he lost at least $500,000 due to having to replace her on short notice.

In addition to the $500,000 Lombardo and the producers of "Looped" are also suing for an additional $1.5 million because they say Harper misled them.
