MTV is reportedly renewing Teen Mom 2 for a sixth season.

The Fate Of 'Teen Mom 2' Is Up In The Air

Despite reports claiming the series would end after the currently airing season 5B, a new publication claims Jenelle Evans, Kail Lowry, Chelsea Houska and Leah Calvert will be returning to the network for at least one more season.

“Producers are getting ready for season 6,” an insider told Radar Online on Sept. 17. “They are calling the girls to make sure everyone is on board.”

Is 'Teen Mom 2' Season Six A Possibility?

Last year, the New York Post claimed Teen Mom 2's days were "numbered," noting "loose-cannon" Evans as the cause. In the weeks prior to the report, Evans met, married and became pregnant with husband Courtland Rogers. Shortly after, Evans reportedly miscarried, claiming her husband had beaten her. Rogers was then failed, but following his release, he and Evans got back together.

According to the report, the negative press Evans had garnered was enough to send the network running. However, days later, MTV confirmed no decision had been made regarding the fate of the series.

Then, in April of this year, Radar Online claimed MTV was not ready to cancel the series.

“Producers saw that ratings were so high,” a source explained at the time. “And now there’s a whole new crop of drama: Jenelle’s pregnant, and Leah and Jeremy are talking divorce. It would be foolish to stop filming now.”

Teen Mom 2 season 5B airs on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on MTV.

Below, Houska and Evans are seen discussing the series.
