19 Kids and Counting News and Updates: Fans Create a change.org Counter Petition to Save Show

19 Kids and Counting news, updates:  It looks like the show is going to battle it out to live another day.
A change.org petition was started earlier to terminate the series after Duggar Family matriarch Michelle Duggar reportedly asked residents of Fayetteville, Arkansas to vote to retract a law that condemns property and business owners that evict or fire people on the basis of their gender.

"The Duggar Family is under attack from anti-marriage advocates for standing for traditional marriage," the note reads, which was posted on a Michelle Duggar Facebook fan page. "We commend The Duggar Family for their brave stand in defending marriage as ordained by God between one man and one woman. No individual's sexual behavior and chosen lifestyle has the right to redefine marriage."

The petition adds: "Sign our petition today to let TLC know that you support the Duggars' stand for traditional marriage."

As of November 21, the petition has received over 6,000 signatures. The Change.org petition, that hopes to get rid of the reality family, has gained over 130,000 supporters since its release on August 20.

19 Kids and Counting's Michelle and her husband Jim Bob are under fire for their stand on same sex couples and LGBT rights. After Michelle challenged married fans to post pictures of themselves kissing, she allegedly deleted those posted by same-sex couples.

19 Kids and Counting is a reality show that follows the lives of the Duggar family, which consists of the couple and their 19 children: nine girls and ten boys, which include two sets of twins. All of their names begin with the letter "J".

Devout Independent Baptists, the Duggars chose to stop using birth control after a miscarriage and allow God to determine the number of children they would  have. Michelle has since given birth once every year and a half.

Since it first aired in September 29, 2008, three of the Duggar kids have gotten married, with the oldest raising three children of his own.

The show originally aired as one-hour specials on TLC and Discovery Health before turning into a series.
