'Pretty Little Liars' 2014 Christmas Special Airing December 9th, Watch Trailer Teaser Here (VIDEO)

"Pretty Little Liars" Season 5 just wrapped up earlier this Fall but they are coming back for a one night Christmas special on December 9th on ABC Family. They have released a trailer teaser for the upcoming special, which you can check out above.  

The episode is titled "How the 'A' Stole Christmas" and synopsis is: all of Rosewood is full of merriment, except for Aria (Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario), who aren't feeling much holiday cheer after the loss of Mona (Janel Parrish) and Spencer's murder charge looming over them.

But when an opportunity presents itself with the chance to get evidence to clear Spencer's name, the girls and their partners devise a plan to get justice for Mona and finally bring Alison (Sasha Pieterse) down. If the plan is successful, it could be a very Merry Christmas after all.

ABC Family noted that, on Instagram, Pretty Little Liars has become the No. 1 most-followed scripted show, with more than 1.1 million followers, topping No. 2-ranked Netflix's Orange is the New Black (836,136).

The show is set in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania and follows the lives of four girls: Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin, Emily Fields, and Spencer Hastings, whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison DiLaurentis. One year later, the estranged friends are reunited as they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure named "A", who threatens to expose their deepest secrets,including ones they thought only Alison knew. At first, they think it's Alison herself, but after her body is found, the girls realize that someone else is planning on ruining their perfect lives.

The show passed the milestone of 100th episode earlier this season. "Pretty Little Liars" premiered on June 8, 2010 on ABC Family and is currently in Season 5 which will feature 25 episodes. The show stars Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Holly Marie Combs, Ian Harding and more. In June 2014, "Pretty Little Liars" was renewed for a sixth and seventh season.
