George Clooney Charms Ladies in New Downtown Abbey Clip

George Clooney once again proves that he's still as dashing as ever in Downtown Abbey's up and coming charity film. Based on the brief trailer that has been recently released by BBC this week, revealing his guesting on the popular show, the veteran actor has not lost his touch in acting-and in charming the ladies.

 The fans of Downtown Abbey were thrilled at the revelation that the actor is appearing in the show. It was baffling, however, when, in the first trailer, it appears that Lady Cora is married we to the Earl of Grantham, Hugh Bonneville. In the clip, she approaches George, who is chatting with Lady Rose MacClare (Lily James), and tells him, 'Dearest, Lord and Lady Carlisle have asked us over for dinner tonight.' All of a sudden, the man turns around and reveals that it is not, in fact, her husband. 

 Clooney was also seen having so much fun with Robert Crawley (who plays Hugh Bonneville) during promo shots. The two actors were dressed in similar grey three-piece suits, smiling at each other while they held onto a clapperboard containing the words 'Text Santa' together with the show's name.

 Last September, it was confirmed by BBC that the in-demand actor would be acting as guest star and join the Crawley family for a sketch scene in ITV's Christmas charity fundraiser, Text Santa (a charity that raises money and awareness for six UK charities). While on business of shooting the project, Clooney went to visit the London Highclere Castle in May with wife Amal Alamuddin.

 An insider revealed to US Weekley: "Highclere is sometimes open to the public but this day it wasn't, so they were the only ones there. They spent a few hours there before they returned to their hotel."

 Clooney's Downton Abbey guesting will air on Thursday, Dec. 18. The show's upcoming fifth season, meanwhile, will finally premiere in the U.S. on Sunday, Jan. 4.
