Dave Lombardo, former drummer of the metal band SLAYER has collaborated with American composer and actor Joseph Bishara for the upcoming sequel of the horror flick, Insidious 3. Lombardo and Bishara both worked on the cinematic score of the film.

"[Joseph] called me and asked me if I wanted to take part in creating some drums for it, and I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it, because I was gonna be [in Europe doing promotion and taking part in drum clinics], and he moved the whole schedule early," Lombardo told France's TV Rock Live (see video). "And I was very grateful," according to Blabbermouth.

Lombardo said that they had a good time creating the drums and recording them for the movie. So now Insidious will have Dave Lombardo on drums and no double bass which is very ambient.

Lombardo was fired from SLAYER in 2013 due to a contract dispute with members of the group.

The film stars Dermot Mulroney, Stefanie Scott, Lin Shaye, Steve Coultier, Leigh Whannell, Angus Sampson, Hayley Kiyoko, Ashton Moio and Ele Keats.

The movie is the first sequel that will not star Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne and will not be directed by acclaimed horror director James Wan. Wan is busy helming The Conjuring 2 which stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

Insidious 3 is directed and written for the screen by Leigh Whannell and this will mark as his debut as a director for the big screen. The film is due to hit the big screen on June 5, 2015.
