Ben Affleck recently confessed that his success as an actor would not be complete without his wife, Jennifer Garner. According to his interview with Loaded, the 42-year-old actor shared that his success was due to the support Garner gave to him in his artistic journey.

"Getting to know Jennifer, falling in love with her and being connected with her gave me a foundation to reach out and say, okay, I'm going to do 'Hollywoodland.' I'm going to direct 'Gone Baby Gone.' Those were the steps forward I needed to put positive stuff on the board," Design & Trend quotes.

However this does not say the same on the on-screen tandems the couple had done before."My wife and I made 'Pearl Harbor' and 'Daredevil.' With our track record, I don't know if anyone's looking for a three-quel. She won most of the fights in the movie, which was a pretty good predictor of what would happen down the road -- my wife holding swords and beating the living s--t out of me," quotes Huffington Post.

However, that doesn't mean the movies he worked on alone are not major award contenders. One example is his film Argo where he took helm as the director and went home with an Oscar for Best Picture, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Best Director Award, a Critic Choice Award and a Directors Guild of America award. His recent film, Gone Girl has received nods from award-giving bodies for the 2015 award season and could be an addition to his growing trophy glass cabinet.

His upcoming projects are also highly anticipated such as his role as the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and his team up with Matt Damon on HBO's Project Greenlight.
