Eva Longoria’s crazy Christmas holiday and her advocacy to girls

The Desperate Housewives actress, Eva Longoria, had one heck of a holiday and by that we mean sizzling hot.

The 39-year-old actress posted in Instagram over the Christmas holidays of her in a bikini from her trip to sunny Cartagena, Colombia. The caption went, "It's too hot in Cartegena....must jump in pool! #NewYears," Daily Mail quotes. The photo is just one of the many snaps Longoria took during her wet and wild trip.

But if you think the actress was alone, better think again. Accompanying her in her tropical getaway was her boyfriend of over a year, Antonio Baston. For those who have been hiding under a rock, Baston is the President of Televisa.

But Longoria has a perfect excuse on why she's been partying so hard. Come 2015, the actress-turned-producer is going to be extremely busy staring with her new drama, Refugio. Another is the third season of Devious Maids which will come back shortly after the New Year. She is the executive producer of the show since 2013.

Aside from her entertainment industry duties, Longoria is also busy advocating to get every girl their right for a good education. She is currently working on A Path Appears, a multi-part documentary based on the book written by Pulitzer Prize winning couple Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuWunn. The Desperate Housewives alum traded her lavish dresses and stilettos for baggy jeans and work boots as she walks through the hazardous streets of the Columbian slums. She, along with other celebrities take viewers to different faces to reveal why there is gender inequality and what causes it. Topics that were touched were sex trafficking and poverty.

It is to be noted that Longoria's trip spotlighted the reason why several girls drop out of school in Cartagena - either they are pregnant or they are a mother as early as 15.

A Path Appears will premiere on PBS by January 26.
