The HTC One/M9 Hima release date has long been rumored to be sometime between the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the Mobile World Congress (MWC) events. The CES in Last Vegas is over so the anticipated unveiling date for the next HTC One flagship smartphone, if the rumors are true, may be any time before or on March 2. The MWC 2015 will take place from March 2 to March 5 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain. In fact, HTC has already sent out press invitations for an event on March 1 featuring a picture of a starry sky highlighted by a single burst of light and cryptically dubbed "Utopia in Progress" with a byline that says "Join Us to See What's Next." And incidentally, HTC' current flagship phone, the One M8, also launched in March of last year.

Bloomberg News citing from an unnamed person familiar with the matter reports that HTC Corporation is planning "to unveil a marquee phone in March with improved camera and audio features, and its first smartwatch." Reportedly code-named M9, the phone purportedly features a 20-megapixel rear camera and an HTC UltraPixel front camera. According to the news site, the next HTC flagship smartphone resembles last year's M8 in terms of size and design, with gold, gray and silver options, and also features Qualcomm Inc.'s eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor which has advanced video capabilities, Dolby 5.1 audio technology and HTC's latest Sense 7 user interface with improved location-based services. The UltraPixel sensor moreover reportedly features fewer but larger pixels designed to get clearer images in lower light.

More details previously released by the usually reliable @upleaks suggested that HTC will be rolling out different versions of the Hima around the globe, that all major American phone carriers will be offering a version of the Hima, and that HTC will also develop a Windows-compatible version of the phone. Also, according to Android Pit, the 'One' in the HTC One M9 moniker will be dropped and the new product will simply go by the name of HTC Hima.
