On October 2 last year, Netflix has inked an exclusive deal with Adam Sandler to star and produce four feature films for the world's leading Internet TV network. The first movie has been revealed Monday as the comedy Western with the title Ridiculous 6.

Sandler will be writing the screenplay with Tim Herlihy, star in it, and with his Happy Madison Productions company, produce the upcoming project. While no release date has been announced yet, production is reportedly set to start by next month already. The title of the movie, Ridiculous 6, is a parody of sorts on ensemble Westerns like 1960's The Magnificent Seven.

According to The Wrap, Sandler will be seen playing a man who grew up as an orphan among an Indian tribe. Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, LukeWilson and Terry Crews are poised to play his half-brothers, while the final half-brother has yet to be cast. Also, Nick Nolte will play Sandler's long-lost father; Chris Parnell a bank manager; Jon Lovitz a wealthy industrialist and Whitney Cummings his flirtatious wife. Will Forte and Danny Trejo will play the leaders of rival gangs, while Steve Buscemi will play a local jack-of-all-trades. The Voice's winningest coach Blake Shelton has been cast as Wyatt Earp while rapper Vanilla Ice will appear as Mark Twain. Other Happy Madison regulars like Dan Aykroyd, Nick Swardson, Steve Zahn, Chris Parnell and Lavell Crawford are also expected to be given roles in the ensemble movie.

Ridiculous 6 was under development at Sony and Paramount before Sandler took it with him to Netflix following the four-picture deal. Additional details about the other three movies are expected to be announce in the coming months.
