The CW's Arrow season 3 episode 13 airing Wednesday, February 11, at the 8:00-9:00 pm time slot is titled "Canaries." Directed by Michael Schultz from a script written by Jake Coburn and Emilio Ortega Aldrich, the upcoming episode will be featuring an epic battle between the original Canary and the new Black Canary that takes place entirely within the hallucinating mind of Laurel Lance.

According to the studio's synopsis, the recently returned Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is thrown off by the changes within his Team Arrow. He's used to calling the shots but sees that the team has evolved in his absence. And tensions quickly escalate in the lair. Oliver is furious that Laurel (Katie Cassidy) has been going out as the Black Canary and tells her to stop risking her life. However, when drug kingpin Vertigo (guest star Peter Stormare) hits the streets again, Laurel goes against Oliver's wishes and tracks down Vertigo. Confronting him, she gets herself hit with a full dose of the mind-altering drug.

Since Laurel's biggest fears revolve around her sister Sara (Caity Lotz), the Vertigo drug causes her to hallucinate an epic fight between her sister's alter ego Canary and her own Black Canary persona. Previously, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased via Spoilers Guide: "We sort of said that Sara was the Canary, but Laurel is the Black Canary. Episodes 10, 11 and 12 are a three-part trilogy that are about her. And episode 13 I think I can spoil, is called 'Canaries.' For fans of Laurel and for fans of Katie [Cassidy], they're going to get more than their fill after the winter break."

Later in the episode, League of Assassins' secret agent Chase (guest star Austin Butler) surprises Thea (Willa Holland). Also, Roy (Colton Haynes) again warns Thea to stay away from her father Malcolm (John Barrowman).
