Kevin Bacon had disguised himself as a regular civilian for a day and the actor is not complaining at all.

According to a report by Nick Vadala of Philly.com, the Philadelphia native recently spoke with LA-based magazine Haute Living to discuss, among other things, the subject of fame - something that Bacon knows a bit about, given that the parlor game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon was created around his seemingly endless connections with our Hollywood heroes. Ultimately, and perhaps not surprisingly, he has decided that being famous is almost entirely great.

That revelation, however, only came after Bacon says he spent a full day bumming around Los Angeles wearing a prosthetic mask to disguise himself as a totally normal, non-famous person.

"It was almost disturbing," he told Haute Living. "People kind of looked right through me and weren't nice. I've had fame for so long that I can't really get my head around what life would be like without it."

Bacon, of course, has been a celebrity on some level since about 1980, when he played a prominent role in the now-beloved slasher flick, Friday the 13th. That fame is continued today with his roles in both The Following, which just started its third season on Fox, and Cop Car, his new film that recently premiered at Sundance.

What's more, Bacon says that his fellow celebrities ought to quit griping about their status and just appreciate the ride. "Fame is 99.9 percent good," he admits.

"People say, 'I love you!' at random," he said. "People give you free s--- for no reason, put you at good tables in restaurants, give you tickets to shows. "

Bacon will be seen next on the upcoming crime drama, Black Mass with Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch.
