Stephen Dorff and Jennifer Morrison Joins ‘Albion: Rise of the Danaan’ Cast

Stephen Dorff and Jennifer Morrison are joining the cast of the fantasy family film Albion: Rise of the Danaan, which first-time director Castille Landon is helming for Sweet Tomato Films, according to an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporter.

Written by Landon, Sarah Scougal and Ryan O'Nan, the film centers around a 12-year-old girl, played by Avery Rath, who is carried to a faraway land called Albion on a magic horse. Dorff will play the young girl's father, and Morrison will appear as a mystical woman in the alternate universe.

The cast also includes Richard Kind, Johnny Sequoyah and O'Nan. Filming has begun in Michigan and in Florida, with the bulk of the film to be shot in Bulgaria in May with an eye toward a summer 2016 release.

The film is being produced by Dori Sperko, Joseph Restaino and O'Nan of Character Brigade. Sweet Tomato Films is an indie production company headquartered in Brandenton, Fl.

In another news, Morrison will be seen in two short films for this year - To Dust Return and Mattresside. From there, she will join Kevin Bacon, Radha Mitchell, David Mazouz, Lucy Fry and Matt Walsh in an upcoming horror thriller film directed by Greg McLean and co-written with Shayne Armstrong and Shane Krause, 6 Miranda Drive.

The film is based on what were said to be actual events about a family who visited the Grand Canyon and brought home more than a few t-shirts and refrigerator magnets, namely a supernatural force that feeds off their fears and takes over their lives.

Principal photography on the film began in April 2014 in Los Angeles and ended in May the same year. Blumhouse Productions and Chapter One Films are producing the film, while Universal Pictures will release the film in 2015.
