Vaccination for Boys to Prevent Cancer in Later Part of Life

A recent Canadian study has led to the conclusion that boys should be treated with a cancer vaccination to prevent the spreading of this disease in later part of life. The vaccination is called human papilloma virus and it should be administered to prevent oral cancer in boys.

This vaccine came into existence in 2006 and is now being recommended in many countries, states The Star. It is also being recommended for girls aged 9 to 12, to prevent the occurrence of cervical cancer in later stage of life, states The Eagle. The tumors which are formed at the back of the throat, effecting the tonsils, leading to oral cancer are known to contain chemical strains of HPV, for which this vaccine can prove to be very beneficial.

HPV vaccination is my far the most touted way to prevent oral cancer in boys and cervical cancer in girls, the study says. The Texas Medical Association has also said that this vaccine also prevents neck and head cancers and should be made available in all leading hospitals, worldwide very soon.

The doctors at this association also said that mostly all white men are known to be affected by this disease, which makes it that much more important to take quick steps to prevent it from the starting only.

In 2013, 55 percent boys were administered with this vaccine and 38 percent girls were also part of this initiative.

HPV is an infection which has root cause in sexually transmitted infection and its spreading should be caught at the nodal starting point, in the young years of children. The association has said that preventive measures should be taken to immunize children against HPV infection, as soon as possible.
