As per the report of IGN news, players of Dota have something to familiarize with the isometric view of the camera and a new game play may be a challenging alternative.

A Dota modder named BMD_ has interestingly turned Dota 2's shooter into the view of the third person.  This accomplishment of his uses the same tools and even the same game engine where the new Dota 2 game runs.

According to BMD_ he had to make alterations to the mechanics of the Dota 2 or Action Dota as he fondly calls it so that it can allow a third-person game play instead of just relying to the traditional controls that are already built-in.

With the new Dota 2, BMD_ said that he did away the old Dota controls and recreated his mouse/keyboard control system using his own motion system which has allowed him to give characters upgrade.  He even made the characters do some new actions like turn, strafe and jump at a faster pace.

There is also the challenge of maneuvering the camera for Dota 2 modders.  The controls of the camera are very "hacked-in" but still functional.  The player must choose at the start of the game an enigma that flies in order to use that as a beacon on where to point the angle of the camera.

BMD_ also revealed that Dota 2 has some limitations since there is no available facility to reposition the angle of the camera manually unless it is locked to the virtual camera unit.

Veteran Dota players might find Dota 2 risky or challenging and may want them go for what they are used to play.  But BMD_ is hopeful that learning the third-person shooter will prove to be fruitful in the end and will lead non-MOBA players to try the Dota 2 and see the difference.
