Kathie Lee Gifford returns to Today on Monday, one week after her husband's death on August 9 due to natural causes.

Frank Gifford was an American football legend and a television sports commentator. Kathie Lee returned to the show to pay tribute to her late husband and express gratitude to everyone who sent their support and condolences through texts and social media. She mentioned that this is where she and her family got strength and support from their lost.

Kathie Lee, in tribute to her late husband, shared Frank's struggles when he was younger. She shared how Frank ate dog food sometimes and has lived in 29 different places because his father cannot find work during the time of depression. Even when the time Frank studied in USC, he only had one pair of jeans and a white shirt.

While everybody paid tribute to Frank for how he has excelled publicly, his wife wanted people to see him in a different sight -- his private life. Kathie Lee told the show on how Frank is the happiest and most content person she knew. He takes a time to roll down his windows on his car and thank policemen and fire-fighters for "keeping the children safe." She adds how Frank knew how to be grateful because he knew how it was to live with totally nothing.

With teary eyes, Kathie Lee expressed how Frank completely died in peace because "He knew every sin he had committed was forgiven", and that he soon would be reunited with his family in heaven. Kathie Lee also enlightened people who are lost at this moment to turn to God as he might be the answer. She also urged everyone to be grateful with their lives. She asked them to take inspiration from what Frank does. This could be a way to "transform this hurting world" that needs the love of God.

Frank Gifford died at around 9 while he was dressed for the church, drinking his coffee and watching TV. He was also excited to know what they will have for lunch. He died at the age of 84.
