Warner Brothers approached director Michael Vaughn and made an offer to direct the "Man of Steel 2." He once offered a scenario for the movie, but the studio turned him down.

Vaughn and Warner Brothers Studio are reported to have engaged in a preliminary conversation about the possibility of him to direct the sequel to Superman for "Man of Steel 2," according to source as reported by Collider. However, there is no commitment from him to agree with the offer.

The 46-year old movie director is a well-known director in his work to make a comic book adaption, which Warner Brothers wants him to do the same for "Man of Steel 2." According to Screen Rant, Vaughn knows what he should do in adapting a comic book to become a great and enjoyable movie. His works as writer and director for the comic book adaptations include the first "Kick-Ass" movie, "X-Men: First Class" and "Kingsman: The Secret Service."

For his work in "X-Men: First Class," Vaughn is able to regain the popularity of "X-Men" after 20th Century Fox failed to score a box-office for "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." The director also had his own view in directing "Man of Steel 2."

“I think that’s the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious The Dark Knight version," he said about what he will do when he take the "Man of Steel 2" project. "Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me.”

In 2010, Vaughn and co-writer Mark Millar made their pitch on the new Superman story to Warner Brothers. However, the studio preferred to take the Mark Snyder version which was written by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan. The movie scored big in the box-office with $680 million, but the character development and storyline have been criticized.
