Actor Tim Allen has angered the Anne Frank Center For Mutual Respect following his comments during a recent interview. The actor during a conversation humorously referred to the current state of conservative Hollywood to the atmosphere of tension that existed in Germany in 1930.

The comments by Tim Allen have struck a nerve with the Anne Frank Center following his interview with comedian Jimmy Kimmel, TIME reported. Kimmel asked the actor about his attendance at President Trump's inauguration ceremony to which the "Home Improvement" star replied saying if individuals are not careful they could be beaten up for their beliefs.

The remarks by Time Allen were immediately condemned by the Anne Frank Center which campaigns for human rights as well as civil rights across the United States. Steven Goldstein the organization's executive director, wasted no time in taking to social media to express his disappointment over the actor's comments.

In response to Tim Allen's comments, Goldstein questioned if the actor had lost his mind. Furthermore, he added that no individual in Hollywood was being forced or subjected to the harassment experienced by the Jews at the hands of the Nazi regime in the 1930s. He added that racial discrimination in terms of being turned down for roles in films could not compare to such a situation.

In addition, the Anne Frank Center addressed the comments by Tim Allen in a statement officially, USA Today reported. The statement from the Center accompanied a screen shot of an alleged email received by the group warning them to stop bullying the actor and claimed the organization was calculating and sneaky.

The Anne Frank Center called on Time Allen to read the email and reflect on his words as it influenced others into being insensitive and comparing Hollywood to Nazi-era Germany. Further, the organization said such emails demanded that the organization persist in their efforts to fight for the rights and empathy of all races, the Guardian reported.
