Singer John Mayer who will release a new album in April, "The Search For Everything" recently revealed the inspiration behind some of the music. The singer has released a few tracks ahead of his album release and admitted openly that Katy Perry is featured in them - implying that getting over his breakup with her has been hard.

Songs by John Mayer on the album including "You're Gonna Live Forever in Me," "Moving On and Getting Over," "Still Feel Like Your Man," are all claimed to talk about his relationship with Perry, Billboard reported. The publication reported that the songs are an intimate and personal take on their relationship with a sense of regret from the singer.

Critics of the recent album by John Mayer feel the singer has indirectly used his music to work through their breakup.  While the album clearly rings true for his relationship with Perry, the singer pointed out that he has been serious in his relationship with her, claiming it was his only relationship, the New York Times reported.

The singer John Mayer was candid about his outlook as he turns 40 this year. According to the publication, the singer is looking to end his bachelor days. He told the publication he looks forward to the time when he can be on stage and see his wife and child cheering him on from the side.

Furthermore, John Mayer told the publication he wants someone in his life to throw him a party and to have someone to come home to and have a family with. He remarked that while he is right on track with his career, time has passed him by in terms of his emotional life.

While John Mayer may be emotionally ready to get back into a relationship, his supporting tour for his latest album maybe restrictive, USA Today reported. The singer was also open enough to mention that he has been part of an exclusive dating app, which has not amounted to much.
